Pick up artists have used PUA routines for many years in a variety of settings. These predetermined ‘scripts’ have rendered success for many a man. There are many reasons why a man would want to use a scripted routine in his interactions with women. Many times the individual is nervous or new to the dating and pick up scene. In this instance the PUA routines are like a set of training wheels in order to break the ice and begin to develop personal talents.
These routines are meant to break the ice with a new woman. They allow the man to put the woman he wants to talk to or seduce at ease. These routines typically use some level of role play or comedic nature. Oter routines are meant to attract the woman to you. They set the stage for her to approach you and begin asking you the questions. They allow the man to simply walk through a script and the woman will be baited in as she finds herself more and more attracted to the man.
Comfort building PUA Openers are used in order to put her at ease. Many times the objective is to initiate a field of touch. This means that the man is working his way slowly into the bed of the woman, or getting her into his bed. Finally there are the seduction PUA routines. These are simply to get her in bed. No shorts, from beginning to end a woman is chosen and the routine is simply a stage being set to get her home with you. Another important facet that is part of the pickup routines is the basic core principles that practically every routine is based on. It is rare to not find one of these aspects in a pickup routine.
The first principle is that of demonstrating higher value. This principle may be hard to spot in many routines, but exists there all the same. Some of the pickup routines that can be used include negative hits. This is not actually hitting or insulting the woman. What the negative hits do is knock the individual off of their pedestal. This makes the individual more accessible and easier to talk to. Many women are so self absorbed in their own little worlds that anyone who dare enter their realm is shot down before they can say hello. The negative hit gives them a dose of reality that then allows a regular guy to actually interact with them.
Another very effective principle that the PUA routines teach is the concept of push and pull. This is like a cat on a string. You feed the line to the woman and then wait for the response. Like a string to a cat she will nip at the comment. You then pull on the string by making another comment that captures even more of her attention. You let her take the string by allowing time for reflection and answer. This has been proven to be a very effective model.
The final two concepts engage the woman into a conversation that retains her attention long enough that she is first comfortable with you touching her, and then moving into a seduction mode. The main purpose of these types of pickup routines is to get her to your bed. This may sound crass at first but the idea is to seduce the woman of your desires. Some of the routines ar role playing in nature, and others are set up to be more game like in format. One such game type routine has a question and answer format. The two individuals the man and woman get to ask each other any question they want as long as those questions follow some very simple ‘rules’.
The pickup artist always has two or three routines that are ready for use on any given night. Keep in mind that the night may commence with the use of one routine but may need to switch in mid use to another routine. If you are losing her attention and find that the routine is not bringing the desired outcome, then switching in mid stream may be exactly what is needed.
Using a pickup routine is like any other skill. Do not think that you can memorize a simple script and go out there and recite it and it is successful. There is a certain level of practice that must be performed. Try using a mirror, or even reciting the words to yourself. The objective is not just to deliver the lines, it is to integrate a certain level of personality and charm into the lines so that the woman you use them on does not realize you are using scripted material.
However it is done, remember to practice and make it seem natural.
